What we cover

Five layers of the power sector. One analytics spine.

Most providers do one slice. EMA links them — because a bid price is meaningless without the outage behind it, the corridor in front of it, and the demand it has to serve.

Markets

Every spot and term segment, priced and probability-weighted.

  • DAM · RTM · GDAM · HP-DAM · TAM
  • Auction-simulation + AI/ML price forecasting, 96 blocks
  • Month-ahead price forecasts for hedging
  • EMA© Forward Price Curve for bilateral
  • Electricity futures & hedge analytics

Generation

Plant-level economics, availability and merit order — not fleet averages.

  • Plant-wise generation & PLF
  • Outage status with revival dates
  • MoD stack & weighted supply cost
  • Coal stock & reservoir energy content
  • Generator portfolio dispatch & offer strategy

Transmission

Where the trade actually clears — or doesn't.

  • Corridor-wise TTC / ATC and flows
  • Inter-regional exchange & congestion
  • STOA / GNA availability
  • Loss factors at 15-min resolution

Distribution

The DISCOM's whole commercial position, block by block.

  • Least-cost dispatch & scheduling
  • Automated DAM / RTM bidding
  • Energy accounting & DSM exposure
  • Portfolio MIS and management reporting

Clean Energy

Variability turned into a schedulable, bankable position.

  • Solar & wind forecasting — ~2,000 MW live
  • Curtailment and RE-share analytics
  • BESS & pumped-storage optimisation
  • Co-located hybrid portfolios — shaping & firming
  • RPO, REC, FDRE and green H₂ modelling
Our platforms

Software built by market practitioners, not by observers.

Every line of P-STAT and P-OPT was written in-house. The people specifying the logic have run exchange operations, dispatch desks and derivatives books themselves.

P‑STAT

India's largest power market data & analytics platform — curated for trading and planning

A first-of-its-kind decision support system covering the entire breadth and depth of the Indian power market — linking demand, supply, fuel, generation and transmission to market price dynamics.

Interactive, customisable analytics with cross-filtering, drill-down and time- and segment-based slicers. 80 million+ curated data points at 15-minute granularity, refreshed to the rhythm of market operations.

The only platform carrying the EMA© Forward Price Curve — a proprietary bilateral market price metric derived from concluded short-term bilateral trade prices for forward periods.

Spot market analytics

DAM, RTM, GDAM and HP-DAM — AI-assisted volume analysis, price sensitivity, clearing behaviour and daily market intelligence.

Demand & weather

State-wise demand analytics with ML pattern recognition, plus integrated weather intelligence for demand direction.

Generation & fuel

Plant-wise generation, outage status with revival dates, MoD prices, weighted average supply cost, coal stock and reservoir position.

Transmission & RE

Corridor-wise TTC/ATC flows, STOA availability, inter-regional exchange, and state-wise RE generation with GDAM volume analysis.

Forward & term markets

EMA© Forward Price Curve, TAM and DSM segment analytics, and settlement-grade forecast-vs-actual tracking.

Real-time & API

Live supply-demand at state and all-India level, RTM participation and URS tracking. Daily emailers, WhatsApp broadcasts and regulatory updates. API on request.

India's first & only integrated engine

P‑OPT

Scheduling, economic dispatch and automated bidding optimisation — for buyers and sellers

A web-based economic dispatch and trade optimisation platform, deployed at 10+ utilities and load dispatch centres across India, Bhutan and Nepal — including for cross-border trade.

An in-house LP-based engine produces least-cost schedules against real generation constraints, then AI/ML-driven logic prepares and pushes DAM and RTM bids. The same ensemble price forecast — PX auction and supply-demand simulation paired with AI/ML — runs inside it across all 96 time blocks, on day-ahead, weekly and month-ahead horizons.

New — P-OPT for Generators. We are extending the same optimiser to the sell side: a merchant or contracted generation portfolio, including portfolio-integrated assets where solar, wind and BESS or pumped storage sit behind a single delivery point and have to be dispatched, shaped and offered as one.

"Designed by you, built by us." Load dispatchers and portfolio managers configure their own workflows and decision logic — the optimiser adapts to the operator, not the reverse.

LP dispatch engine

Least-cost dispatch honouring pMin, ramp rates, minimum up/down times, must-run status and grid parameters.

AI bidding engine

Automated DAM and RTM bid construction with clearing-probability-aware price ladders and order carry-forward logic.

End-to-end automation

Auto-fetch from RLDC/SLDC, bid submission to exchanges via API, energy accounting and MIS built in.

BESS & pumped storage

Storage dispatch optimisation for day-ahead and intraday horizons, including operational battery deployment in a live utility, and co-located storage inside a generation portfolio.

Generator portfolios

Solar, wind and storage optimised as one portfolio against a single connection point — shaping, firming and round-the-clock or FDRE-style delivery obligations.

P‑OPT Outlook

Year-ahead resource adequacy and procurement planning

The planning companion to P-OPT. Outlook simulates least-cost dispatch of a utility's entire contracted portfolio at 96-block resolution across a rolling 12-month window — so the supply-demand gap is visible a year out, not a day out.

Built for the questions that decide a DISCOM's year: where does the gap open, which outage window is safe, is this banking proposal worth signing, and how much short-term procurement do we actually need?

Gap & adequacy analysis

Hourly and block-level surplus/deficit heatmaps across 12 months, with capacity adequacy and price duration views.

Scenario engine

Base, high and low demand forecasts run side by side, with outage calendars and commissioning schedules.

Banking evaluator

Quantifies onward advantage against return burden for every banking proposal — a verdict, not a spreadsheet.

RPO, storage & economy purchase

RPO compliance and REC cost, storage arbitrage against DAM spreads, and economy purchase against market limits.

Methodology

How the DAM & RTM price forecast is built

Not a single black-box model. Three independent views of the same 96 blocks, reconciled into one number — so a forecast can always be explained back to a market mechanism, not just to a training set.

Customised PX market auction simulation

A purpose-built replica of the power exchange's own auction — bid and offer stacks cleared the way the exchanges clear them, to find the price at which the market genuinely balances.

Supply–demand simulation

Fundamentals from the bottom up — demand, RE availability, plant-wise availability and outages, fuel cost and the merit-order stack, modelled block by block.

AI/ML and statistical models

Machine-learning and statistical models trained on years of curated market history, capturing the behavioural and weather-driven patterns that simulation alone will not see.

Ensembled

96-block DAM & RTM price forecast

Rolling day-ahead, weekly and month-ahead horizons — for dispatch, bidding and derivatives hedging alike, with forecast-vs-actual accuracy published openly.

Standards & digital public infrastructure

Building for the India Energy Stack

India's power sector still exchanges its most consequential data as Excel and PDF — no standard schema, no machine verification, no provenance. The India Energy Stack (IES), under the Ministry of Power and managed by REC Limited, fixes that with a specification rather than a platform: an envelope format, an interaction grammar, a credential model and a conformance kit.

EMA Solutions is participating in the IES Use Case 2 — Regulatory Data Exchange pilot, building the tooling that turns a regulatory filing into a signed, schema-validated, independently verifiable object. Custodians keep their data. Anyone can verify it.
